Biology Teachers Association of the Phils. (BIOTA) invited two students from DDC Biology Department , Sheena Mae Josol and Armelen Casalan, to present their research study entitled "The Effectiveness of Aversion Method to Captive-bred White Breasted Sea Eagles" in their 45th Annual National Convention held last April 7-11,2010 at Palawan State University,Puerto Prinsesa with the theme:Biology and the Decade of Education for Sustainable Development.
The research abstract was submitted to the board of directors of the BIOTA Convention for screening and was chosen as one of the top 10 researches to be presented in the convention specifically during the Young Biologist Forum.
They were able to present their research in poster form and were able to interact with students coming from prestigious universities and colleges in the country such as UP,FEU,UST, and Ateneo de Manila University.They were able to join the ecological tour and was able to see the underground river at Sabang,Palawan.
It was a great learning experience of the two biology students since it was the first time in the history of our department to send students for a research presentation outside Davao City.
The department indeed is very thankful to the present administrators of the college, most especially to Dr. Rizalina M. Pangan ,our school president for giving our students an opportunity to travel and enhance their research skills.
