Floro Cubelo, Jr., BSN 3 student copped the first place in the Essay Writing Contest held on October 14, 2009 @ San Pedro College in connection with the Archives Day Celebration observed nationwide on October 23, 2009. Cubelo bested 10 other contestants from the participating colleges and universities in the city.

 

In the extemporaneous dialogue contest, Suzette Tomes and Danica Espinoza, fourth year Physical Therapy students bagged the second prize besting 10 other pairs. The dialogue focused on the role of archives for sustainable development of our country. In the same event, Derek Dale Bayquen, PT 1 and partner Krisabelle Sardeng, BSN 3 got the consolation prize.

 

The activity, its first here in Davao City, was sponsored by the National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA) in cooperation with the Society of Ecclesiastical Archivists of the Philippines, Inc. and San Pedro College. The theme for this year's celebration was “Archives for Sustainable Developmentt”.
