DDC President and CEO, Dr. Rizalina Mitra-Pañgan announced the signing of Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with two other Indonesian schools: SMK Negeri 1 Serang City and SMA Negeri 3 Madiun. The MoU will serve as a key component of the cooperative and educational partnership between the two nations.
“This memorandum will create a cooperative mechanism for Philippine and the Indonesian schools to develop programs beneficial to both partners. The objectives of the program are to build collaboration between schools in the two countries; improve quality of learning through collaborative study, provide pathways for teachers to do research and share knowledge, culture and values”, said SEAMOLEC Training Director Aritonang.
The MoU was signed during the 2nd Workshop on Indonesian-Philippine Schools Partnership Program held on June 22-24, 2010 at the House of Indonesia, Davao City. The signatories were Dr. Rizalina M. Pañgan, Dr. Oeng Rosliana, Aida Rusmilat, Dr. Teresa Estigoy, DepEd Regional Director, SEAMOLEC Director Aritonang and Consul General in Davao, Lalu Malik Partawana. The significant signing was witnessed by Dr. Maria Leah F. Villano, Director for Academic Affairs and Dr. Lily B. Babayen-on, Admissions Officer.
Jointly led by SEAMEO/SEAMOLEC and the Consulate General of Indonesia in Davao City, the leadership of both the Philippines and Indonesia has committed to pursue the partnership.
This is the second round of partnership for DDC with Indonesian schools. The first has been successfully implemented through a Faculty Exchange Program with SMA Negeri 1 Subang, West Java last school year from October 2009 to May 4, 2010.
