We did it! It's a double success for Davao Doctors College after the Philippine Association of Colleges and Universities Commission on Accreditation (PACUCOA) granted the Nursing Program, a Level III Reaccredited status for a period of three (3) years and the Biology Program, a Level II Reacrredited status for five years effective March 2010.
The two programs underwent survey visit last February 8-10, 2010 before a team of accreditors from PACUCOA chaired by Engr. Vinci Nicolas R. Villaseñor.
With such grant, the Biology Program will enjoy the following benefits:
a. full administrative deregulation;
b. financial deregulation in terms of setting of tuition and other fees and charges;
c. authority to revise the curriculum without CHED approval provided that CHED
and PRC minimum requirements and guidelines are complied with; and
d. priority in the awards of grants/subsidies or funding assistance from CHED.
The Nursing Program, on the other hand, will enjoy all aforementioned benefits for Level II as well as the following:
1. authority to offer new courses allied to existing level III courses without need
for prior approval;
2. privilege to offer new programs, open learning/distance education; and
3. privilege to offer extension classes and to participate in transnational
education.
Dr. Rizalina Mitra-Pañgan, President and CEO, expressed her utmost gratitude to the administrators, faculty, staff and students who have contributed to the achievement.
