More than 40 parents, teachers and partners from adopted communities attended the half-day Parenting Seminar on February 5, Saturday at the DDC AVR.
Team speakers and couple, Dr. Teodulfo and Evelyn Pajaron, delve on “Challenges in Parenting a College Student” based on their own personal experiences.
Prof. Miguel D. Soledad, DDC President and CEO also shared his thoughts on parenting. He likened parenting to kite-flying. When you begin, you keep the kite close, let loose the string slowly but carefully controlling each move. He also shared a line quoted from Khalil Gibran’s poem on Children…..”Your children are not your children, they are the sons and daughters of Life’s longing for itself.”
The seminar was organized by the GuidanceCenter spearheaded by OIC-Head, Ms. Marjorie B. Omandam and Ms. Lanie Corpuz, Guidance Counselor with the help of the DDC Peer Counselors.
