- Identification Card
- The current official college ID is needed for entrance and in all library transactions. The ID is non- transferable.
- Borrowing Procedure
- The library operates an automated charging and discharging system. To borrow a book, bring the book and the official ID to the appropriate counter. The due date will be stamped on the date due slip and the borrower will receive a transaction receipt to be presented to the Security Guard on duty at the Control Area.
- Borrowing Privileges and Regulations
- Circulation Books
- Bona fide students are allowed to borrow a maximum of two books at a time renewable for three days.
- Full-time faculty and staff are allowed to borrow a maximum of five books at a time renewable for three weeks.
- Part-time faculty are allowed to borrow two books at a time renewable for two weeks.
- Reserve Books
- Students can borrow one book at a time for one hour, renewable for another hour if there is no prior request.
- Reserve books are for inside use only. These are placed at the Circulation Section.
- Filipiniana books do not circulate. However, duplicate copies may be checked-out.
- Reference, Periodicals, Theses, and Manuscripts do not circulate and are for inside use only.
- A week before the final examinations, all books will be for inside use only.
- The borrower is responsible for books he or she checks-out.
- Materials will not be checked out to those who have fines or overdue books.
- Reservation
- For a book that is already on loan, you may submit a reservation at the Circulation counter. It will be held at the counter for a week.
- Renewals
- Renewal of books can be made only when the book is due for check-in as indicated in the date due card.
- Returning Materials
- Return all loans to the appropriate counter. Please ensure the book is properly discharged before leaving the counter.
- Transaction Slips
- Faculty and students shall receive from the Circulation counter a transaction slip every time a book is borrowed from the general collection. The same slip shall be presented to the Circulation Librarian upon return of the book.
- Fines
- Circulation Books Overdue - P5.00 per book/day, excluding Sundays and Holidays
- Reserve Books - P2.00 per hour
- All fines should be paid at the Accounting Office.
- Receipts should be presented to the Circulation Librarian.
- Lost Books
- Lost books must be reported at once. The fine on an overdue book shall stop at the time the book is reported lost. A replacement copy of the same text, author and edition is due for any lost book.
- If a replacement copy is not available, assessment shall be according to the cost indicated in the Accession Record plus the standard processing fee of P 25.00.
- Cash payment is made directly to the Accounting Office.
- Any book not returned at the end of the semester is considered lost.
- Mutilated/Damaged Materials
- Materials with missing or mutilated pages should be reported at once. Mutilated or damaged materials will cost the borrower a rebinding fee for those books judged fit for rebinding, or a copying fee for certain missing pages, or the replacement value for those too damaged for repair. - Internet Use
- Each student is entitled to a maximum of 30 hours Internet use for a semester. Modifying computer settings, cyber chatting, playing computer games, viewing pornographic web pages, downloading files, engaging in cyber sex and security hacking are strictly prohibited.
- Reviewees' Use of the Library
- A bona fide DDC Reviewee (DDC Graduate) is entitled to avail the Library Services from Monday – Saturday free of charge. However, he/she is not allowed to borrow materials for home use.
- Lost and Found
- Inquiries about lost articles may be made at the Chief Librarian’s Office.
- Fire Exits/Alarms
- Fire exits are located in each section of the Library. Signs are posted for easy identification.
- Fire alarms are found in strategic locations in each floor of the Library. These alarms are to be set on only in cases of fire.
- Any unauthorized use of the fire alarms will be dealt accordingly.
- Library Clearance
- At the end of each semester and summer, clearances will be signed provided that all accountabilities have been settled.
- Control Area
- All users (Students, Faculty, NTS, and Administration) and visitors should leave their bags at the baggage counter before they can enter the library. He/She should bring all his/her valuables, e.g. wallets, cellphones, etc. and secure a claim number that corresponds to his/her baggage number. Library Staff is not responsible of any missing/lost items due to the negligence of the users.
- All users should follow the direction at the entrance/exit alley to avoid congestion in the flow of the traffic in the control area.
- Validated Identification Cards are needed for entrance to the library. Library users are required to swipe their IDs at the Entrance Monitoring System to register themselves (instead of writing on the Registration Form) and for the library staff to generate users’ statistics. Visitors should log their names in the record book available at the Control Checker’s desk. No ID, No Entry.
- Students should wear their uniforms at all times.
- All users with borrowed books for home study or for photocopying outside the library should present the books for checking by the guard on duty at the control area of the library.
- Only bags, folders and envelopes are allowed to be deposited at the baggage counter.
- Users with unclaimed bags that are left overnight are charged with the amount of Php 25.00/day as storage fee.
- Users with lost claim numbers at the Baggage Counter are charged with the amount of Php 20.00/no.
- Payment of charges must be paid directly to the cashier’s office and receipts will be presented to the Chief Librarian.
- Miscellaneous
- Anything which interferes with the proper use and management of the Library is not permitted. Examples include: food, drink, bottles of ink, wet umbrellas, games of any form, audio and video players, and typewriters. Cell-phones should be turned -off or switched to the silent mode upon entering the library.
- The Library is a place for all library users to pursue their studies and research in an atmosphere free from unnecessary disturbance. To this end, any loud talking, misuse of library facilities or behavior considered by the Librarians to be unseemly is not permitted. The Librarians/Library staff shall have the authority to confiscate the identification cards of those who have ignored verbal warning from the Library staff for the second time. Students caught making noise or eating inside the library for three times will be referred to Prefect of Discipline for disciplinary action.
- Violation or infraction of library rules and regulations shall not be excused on the plea of ignorance.
