Dan Guiller II G. Acero, RRT, CRPO Dannalyn D. Ibañez, RRT, MAEM, PhD
Abstract
As Artificial Intelligence (AI) becomes more integrated into education, understanding the motivational factors behind its adoption is crucial. This study explored the relationship between AI use motives—specifically expectancy-value constructs—and AI utilization among 132 radiologic technology instructors in the Region XI using a descriptive predictive design. Descriptive statistics indicated high levels of motivation across all constructs: Expectancy (x̄ = 4.10), Attainment (x̄ = 4.10), Utility (x̄ = 4.15), Intrinsic/Interest Value (x̄ = 4.14), and Cost (x̄ = 4.09). AI Utilization also showed a high mean (x̄ = 3.71), suggesting frequent use with some variation among respondents. Correlation results revealed moderate positive relationships between AI utilization and expectancy (rs = 0.401; p = 0.000), attainment (rs = 0.442; p = 0.000), and intrinsic/interest value (rs = 0.568; p = 0.000), while cost showed a strong positive correlation (rs = 0.635; p = 0.000). However, utility value (rs = 0.064; p = 0.465) was not significantly related to utilization. Regression analysis identified cost and intrinsic/interest value as significant predictors of AI use, while expectancy had a negative but non-significant effect. The model explained 58.53% of the variance in AI utilization (R² = 0.5853), indicating a moderately strong fit. These findings suggest that while educators generally value AI and are motivated to use it, practical and personal interest factors, rather than perceived usefulness alone, are more predictive of actual AI integration. The study highlights the need to address implementation barriers and provide targeted training to support effective AI adoption in radiologic technology education. Future research should validate constructs, broaden the sample, and examine long-term trends in AI utilization.

Abstract
Mental health stress has been linked to lower work performance among health care workers. The purpose of this article was to examine the mediating role of innovative work behavior in the link between mental health stress and work performance. This study used a descriptive-correlational design. This study included 120 radiologic technologists from private hospitals in Davao del Sur. The statistical tools used in the study are mean, spearman rho product moment correlation, regression analysis, and Med graph using Sobel z-test. The data revealed that Radiologic Technologists experienced moderate mental health stress, high levels of innovative work behavior, and high levels of work performance. The study found a substantial correlation between Radiologic Technologists' mental health stress and work performance, specifically in anxiety, job insecurity, and role ambiguity. Additionally, innovative work behavior and work performance with the following indicators Opportunity exploration, Idea generation, Idea promotion, Idea realization, Reflection of Radiologic Technologists also had significant relationships. Meanwhile, mental health stress and work performance, especially anxiety, job insecurity, and role ambiguity, had a negative correlational relationship. Furthermore, the mediation analysis revealed that innovative work behavior did not mediate the association between mental health stress and job performance, resulting in a decrease in beta value. This implies that work behavior is not the cause mental stress which affects job performance. This study uncovered new information that may help researchers and health care institutions build programs to alleviate mental health stress while increasing innovative work behavior and performance among Radiologic Technologists and other healthcare workers.

Title: KNOWLEDGE, ATTITUDE, AND PERCEIVED RADIATION SAFETY CULTURE AMONG RADIOLOGIC TECHNOLOGIST IN DAVAO REGION
Florife Bandao Gringco-Llegue
Abstract
This study examined the knowledge, attitudes, and perceived radiation safety culture among Radiologic Technologists in the Davao Region using a descriptive- correlational design. Analysis of 102 convenience-sampled respondents revealed moderate knowledge levels (M = 2.84, SD = 1.03), neutral attitudes (M = 2.46, SD = 0.505), and a perceived safety culture requiring improvement (M = 3.96, SD = 0.486). While educational attainment showed a significant association with safety culture (η = 0.214, p = 0.034), other demographic factors (age, sex, experience) and professional competencies (knowledge, attitudes) had no significant influence on safety culture perceptions. The findings suggest that current knowledge and attitude levels among technologists in private hospitals and clinics do not strongly predict safety culture implementation, despite their routine radiation safety practices during X-ray procedures. The study concludes that while educational background influences safety culture, institutional interventions—such as targeted training programs and improved communication channels—are essential to enhance professional competencies and workplace safety culture. Implementing these measures could bridge existing gaps, leading to better knowledge retention, more positive attitudes, and a stronger radiation safety environment in radiology departments.

Hanna Mae M. Gasang
Abstract
This study aimed to determine the maternal care practices, perceived social support, and maternal well- being among postpartum women in Kidapawan City. Employing a predictive-correlational research design, the study involved 120 postpartum women selected through convenience sampling. It assessed the extent to which maternal care practices and perceived social support predict maternal well-being. Data were collected using three standardized tools: the Level of Maternal Care Practices Questionnaire which was developed by Nguyen et al.,2022 and has the Cronbach’s alpha of 0.80, 0.60, and 0.73 respectively, indicating that the questionnaire was reliable to use. This was used to assess maternal health behaviors. The Multidimensional Scale of Perceived Social Support (MSPSS) developed by Zimet et al., 2023, which has the Cronbach's alpha values ranging from 0.85 to 0.91which demonstrated strong reliability was then used to evaluate perceived support from family, friends, and significant others, and the World Health Organization’s 5-Item Well-Being Index (WHO-5) to measure maternal well-being. Findings revealed that healthy behaviors significantly predicted maternal well-being (rs = .200, p = .029), implying that higher engagement in healthy behaviors is associated with improved well-being. However, risk behavior avoidance (rs = .163, p = .075) and health-seeking behaviors (rs = .065, p = .478) did not show significant associations. Maternal well-being was also positively correlated with perceived support from friends (rs = .268, p =
.002) and family (rs = .268, p = .003), while support from significant others was not significantly related (rs = .170, p = .063). Nonparametric regression analysis showed that 28.22% of the variance in maternal well-being could be explained by maternal care practices and perceived social support (R² = .2822), suggesting that 71.78% is influenced by other factors. These findings highlight the importance of promoting healthy behaviors and strengthening peer-based support systems to enhance maternal well-being during the postpartum period.

Title: A DECADE OF SERVICE: THE LIVED EXPERIENCES OF MILLENNIAL NURSES WHO OPTED TO STAY IN THE COUNTRY
Nick Ian L. Honculada, RN
Abstract
This hermeneutic phenomenological study examines the real-life stories of millennial nurses in the Philippines who chose to stay in their country instead of working abroad, filling an important gap in research about why nurses stay or leave. With the world facing a nursing shortage and the Philippines struggling with many skilled workers leaving, the research asks why some nurses resist moving overseas. Focusing on an area with overstretched healthcare services, the study included 15 millennial nurses, 10 assigned to special care areas and 5 in non-special areas, through detailed interviews and group discussions. Using van Manen’s method to study lived experiences, three key themes emerged: (1) Reality of Staying, where family bonds, cultural comfort, and job satisfaction keep nurses rooted; (2) Generational Dissonance, revealing clashes between younger nurses and older systems, including understaffing, low pay, and pandemic stress; and (3) Adaptation and Existential Fulfillment, showing how nurses build resilience through community service, learning, and faith. The findings challenge common beliefs about migration by highlighting how these nurses find purpose in local work, even when the system fails to support them. The study calls for urgent policy changes to keep nurses by improving pay, working conditions, and respecting their cultural and social values.

Title: A Path Analysis of Organizational Commitment, Job Satisfaction and Intent to Stay Among Nurses
Johndie C. Te, RN
Abstract
This research study aimed to determine the relationship between organizational commitment, job satisfaction and intent to stay among nurses. The predictive-correlational research design was used in the study. Using the G power method, 218 registered nurses from private hospitals in Kidapawan City were selected using convenient sampling technique as respondents of the study. To assess the organizational commitment of nurses, the survey questionnaire by Abd-Alazim et al. (2024) (Organizational Commitment Questionnaire) was used in the study. Furthermore, to measure the level of job satisfaction of nurses, the Job Satisfaction Scale by Dargahi (2024) was used in the study. Lastly, Employee Retention Questionnaire by Claxton et al. (2023) was used to assess the intent to stay among nurses. Cronbach Alpha result are 0.93, 0.86 and 0.91 respectively. Results showed that most nurses were female, aged 28–32, married, with 1–2 years of experience, and held regular ward positions. Moreover, nurses reported high job satisfaction (x̄=4.07), intent to stay (x̄=3.79), and organizational commitment (x̄=5.18). However, statistical analysis showed that organizational commitment did not mediate the relationship between job satisfaction and intent to stay with a p-value of 0.604 and 0.505, respectively. Meanwhile, there was no statistical in the relationship between the demographic profile of nurse and their levels of job satisfaction and intent to stay (p > 0.05). The study recommends future research with larger samples, similar Likert scaling and real- life narratives such as anecdotal comments or empirical studies for deeper personal insights.

Title: Mediating Effect of Work-Related Quality of Life on the Relationship between Organizational Commitment and Work Performance among Hemodialysis Nurses in a Free-Standing Hemodialysis Center in Davao Region
Lauren L. Torres, RN
Abstract
This study aimed to examine the mediating role of work-related Quality of Life (WRQoL) in the relationship between organizational commitment and work performance among hemodialysis nurses in a free-standing hemodialysis center in the Davao Region. Using a predictive-correlational research design, data were collected from 157 nurses selected through convenience sampling, employing questionnaires adopted from Easton and Van Laar (2012) WRQoL 24-item psychometric tool, Takada (2005) 22-items that measures affective, normative and continuance commitment, and Fernandez-del-Rio (2019) 18-items rated with Likert 5-point scale, which were tested for validity and reliability. The results indicated that nurses generally performed well and expressed job satisfaction, particularly in balancing work and personal responsibilities (M=3.52, SD=1.37), home-work interface (M=3.93, SD=0.93), and overall job satisfaction (M=3.54, SD=1.24). Despite this, organizational commitment remained moderate (M=3.40, SD=0.82), with affective commitment identified as the strongest factor (M=3.84, SD=0.90). Performance levels were high (M=4.17), reflecting competent and professional care delivery. Significant positive correlations were found between organizational commitment and WRQoL (rs= .364, p=.004), while feelings of excessive control (rs= -.212, p=.008) were negatively associated with performance. WRQoL was found to partially mediate the relationship between organizational commitment and work performance (β= -0.132, p=.001). The findings underscore the importance of fostering a supportive work environment, enhancing emotional engagement, and implementing policies to improve nurse performance and retention in the Davao region’s free-standing hemodialysis centers.

Title: INNOVATIVE WORK BEHAVIOR AND ORGANIZATIONAL COMMITMENT AMONG NURSES IN SELECTED PRIVATE HOSPITAL IN NORTH COTABATO
Myra L. Untua, RN
Abstract
This study explored the relationship between innovative work behavior and organizational commitment among nurses in selected private hospitals in North Cotabato. Employing a predictive research design, data were collected from 125 nurses using standardized questionnaires measuring levels of innovative work behavior and organizational commitment, with the sample size determined using power analysis, a statistical technique that ensures adequate power to detect significant relationships and enhance the robustness of the findings. The results indicated that while respondents demonstrated high levels of innovative work behavior—especially in idea generation—overall organizational commitment was also strong, with the highest scores found in continuance commitment. However, statistical analyses (correlation and regression) revealed no significant relationship between the dimensions of organizational commitment and innovative work behavior. These findings suggest that other factors, such as autonomy, resource availability, and organizational support, may play a more influential role in fostering innovation than commitment alone. The study recommends that healthcare administrators and nurse leaders focus on creating environments that support innovation through strategies that go beyond commitment-based approaches.
